2023 Workplace Wellness Trends

  • February 21, 2023

When it comes to initiatives shaping the corporate realm, workplace wellness trends fall at the top of the list. As we continue to navigate the post-Covid landscape, businesses’ and candidates’ priorities have shifted, and the physical and mental wellness of employees is paramount. From feelings of stress and burnout to trouble with work-life balance, individuals are advocating for help from their higher-ups. Ultimately, workplace wellness is more than just a physical consideration; making it part of your organization’s core values can increase productivity, happiness, performance, and more.

As you continue to explore your organization’s wellness program, consider the following workplace wellness trends for 2023.

Workplace Wellness Trends to Consider in 2023

Mental Health

It is apparent that the mental health of the general population has declined since the start of the pandemic. From feelings of anxiety and stress to loneliness and isolation, many Americans have and continue to struggle with their mental health. Based on a survey from the summer of 2021, 41% of respondents reported experiencing anxiety in the past year alone. As a result, businesses continue to invest in mental health and well-being programs. Clarkston Consulting’s 2023 CIO Survey found that 96% of respondents have invested in the mental health space, up from 67% last year. While the presence of anxiety and stress is slowly dropping after the peak of the pandemic, organizations should continue to invest in the mental health of their employees.

Stress Management

Stress management has been common in corporate programs for years. However, whether it be the lasting impacts of the pandemic, the labor shortage, or never-ending pay cuts, Americans’ stress levels continue to rise. No matter what is causing the stress, providing your employees with avenues to manage their stress levels, such as through an employee resource group or instituting quiet days, can help ensure a healthy workplace environment.
